Syntel VIS-day a success

Last December, Syntel organised a VIS day for Very Important Students. A select group of intelligent as well as ambitious computer and management science students in the final stages of their studies were pampered for an entire afternoon. At Syntel's offices in Reeuwijk they were, for example, given an explanation of the banking software industry, and demonstrations illustrating the IT-related aspects of Investment. Later in the programme the emphasis was on the manner in which Syntel organises the coaching, supervision and training of new recruits. The afternoon concluded with a guided tour of the building, after which each of the participants had a one-to-one chat with a Syntel consultant. The aim of these discussions was to gain a greater understanding of the wishes, ambitions and competences of the individual students and become better acquainted with them on a personal level. The students then mingled at the Syntel Friday afternoon get-together.
After the VIS day two students were offered a contract. They have since been taken on by Syntel as enthusiastic junior consultants and have already completed part of their training.
Syntel intends to hold another VIS day soon for a new group of students.
